CBSE Central Teacher Eligibility Test 2017 - Details of Eligibility Criteria

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the official notification in that they ar looking for conducting the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) on February 2017 and the closing date for submission of online application form December. CTET-2017 consists of two papers i.e., Paper-1 and Paper-2, the selected candidate through this CTET-2017 will be eligible to schools of the central government (KVS, NVS, Central Tibetan Schools, etc.) and schools under the administrative control of UT's of Chandigarh, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu and Andaman & Nicobar Islands and NCT of Delhi. Before that the applying candidate to the CBSE CTET 2017 are should satisfy the eligibility criteria those are listed below.

Eligibility Criteria for CBSE Central Teacher Eligibility Test 2017

Minimum eligibility criteria for Paper-1 (i.e., Classes 1 to 5):
  • The candidates applying for this post should have acquired a senior secondary certificate (or its equivalent), having obtained at least 50 per cent marks. Also, the candidates should have passed or should be appearing in the final year of 2-year diploma in elementary education (OR)
  • The candidates should have acquired a certificate in senior secondary exam (or its equivalent), having acquired at least 45 per cent marks. Also, the candidates should have passed or should be appearing in the final year of 2-year diploma in elementary education in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002 (OR)
  • The candidates should have acquired a certificate in senior secondary exam (or its equivalent), having acquired at least 50 per cent marks. Also, the candidates should have passed or should be appearing in the final year of four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) (OR)
  • The candidates applying for this test should have acquired a senior secondary certificate (or its equivalent), having obtained at least 50 per cent marks. Also, the candidates should have passed or should be appearing in the final year of two-year diploma in Education (Special Education) (OR)
  • The candidates should be graduates. And they should have passed or should be appearing in final year of two year diploma in Elementary Education

Minimum eligibility criteria for Paper-2 (i.e., Classes 6 to 8):
  • The candidates should be graduates. And they should have passed or should be appearing in the final year of two-year diploma in Elementary Education (OR)
  • The candidates should be graduates, having obtained at least 50 per cent marks. And the candidates should have acquired one-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) programme degree (OR)
  • The candidates should be graduates, having obtained at least 45 per cent marks. And the candidates should have passed or should be appearing in one year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) programme, in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard (OR)
  • The candidates should have obtained a senior secondary certificate (or its equivalent), having acquired at least 50 per cent marks.  And the candidates should have passed or should be appearing in final year of four- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) programme (OR)
  • The candidates should have obtained a senior secondary certificate (or its equivalent), having acquired at least 50 per cent marks And the candidates should have passed or should be appearing in final year of 4- year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed programme (OR)
  • The candidates should be graduates, having obtained at least 50 per cent marks. And the candidates should have passed or should be appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education) programme
